I'll be mostly cutting a 15 acre pasture, loader work, and occasional discing for buffer strips. I have limited experience with tractors and am interested in keeping it simple. Any reason not to get the eHydro???? Suggestions??

I would recommend the ehydro. Very straight forward and simple to use as well as maintain. Very strong and reliable. Also offers you several different options as far as engagment rate and hydro pump loading with the motion match and load match. The ehydro is excellent for use with tilling using the cruise control. Test one with and without and see how you like them. ....

Thanks Chief!

I test drove a 4610 in ePowerReverser and thought it was kind of "rough" especially in fast gear starting on gravel. My dealer was saying most folks buy this instead of eHydro but I'm not sure why. I'm going to test the ehydro in a 4310 tomorrow. He was also recommending the R4 tires instead of the ag tires but honestly I don't plan on driving on my lawn any time soon...I use a Scag for that...So I think I will go with the 4710 eHydro with the R1 tires. I suspect the dealer wants to sell what he has on one of his lots at one of his seven stores. ....

It might vary from area to area and dealer to dealer, but my dealer told me that they rarely sell anything but eHydro on the 10 series machines. I'm sure sales folks who like gears best would push the geared machines, and those who like hydro best would push those. Of course they make more money on the hydros, but if they have geared machines in stock that's what they'll push. ....

Chief mentioned the LoadMatch feature, and I'd have to add that I really like LoadMatch. It's darn near impossible to stall an eHydro machine when LoadMatch is turned on. You can be idling at 1000 RPM in high range and punch the go pedal and it will take off without hesitation or bucking. Great for loader and heavier dirt work. ....

No, No reason not to get the hydro. I just turned 150 hrs on my 4710 Ehydro and cant think why i would want a Power Reverser or gear drive. This tractor is ideal for new users. Oh I can think of a reason. My wife didnt like to drive any of our clutched tractors. Say yes to the Load Match and cruse . For the money you wont regret it. Good Luck ....
